A Flagship project of the African Union Agenda 2063, the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) creates a market of 1.3 billion people and a combined GDP of $3.4 trillion. A reported 81% of goods can start being traded under preferential terms while approx. 20% continue to be negotiated with plans to conclude by July 2021.
