Emily is an HR Leader, Coach and Founder of Rise & Learn Global, a Leadership and Human Resource consulting firm. She is the Local Partner for Erickson Coaching International through Rise & Learn. Emily is currently a Global Director with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and also served as the Treasurer for the ICF Professional Coaches board in 2020. In the past she served as President of the ICF Kenya Chapter. For over 15 years, she has been a Human Resource professional and has worked for Kenya Airways and Syngenta & Jubilee Insurance where she served as Group Head of Human Resources. She is experienced in HR strategy development, Leadership, change management, Coaching, Career and organizational development having supported various countries across Africa & Middle East. Emily was most recently appointed to the Governing Council of Pan African Christian (PAC) University.

In her past career journey, Emily has been exposed to a multinational set up while supporting various countries – this enabled her to develop a global mindset and appreciate diversity. Some of the projects she has handled include HR strategy development, implementation of the Balance Scorecard, change management, Talent Management, Culture Change and organizational development in various countries including Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zambia, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Turkey, Greece, Morocco, Egypt and South Africa.

She has previously served as a Council Member for the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) in Kenya. Emily was named Manager of the Year in 2014 during Company of the Year Awards (Kirit Dave Award) organized by Kenya Institute of Management. She is also a member the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). Emily has been a guest speaker on HR & Leadership topics for various organizations including Marcus Evans, Access Business Management Conferencing International (ABMC), Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAK), Kenya Institute of Management (KIM), Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM), and Mercer (SA) Consulting. She is a contributor of the Journal of Human Resource Management by IHRM having written articles on Talent Management, HR Business Partnering, Reward, Change Management and Coaching. Her coaching clients experience spans across various countries including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana, Nigeria, Ireland, UK & US.

Emily is married and has 3 sons.

Her 23-year career spans industries such as management consulting & advisory, oil & gas, telco and
information technology. Folake is a seasoned corporate executive with extensive experience in the
fields of International Human Resource Management (IHRM), Talent Management, Strategic business partnering & Organisational Development in leading global multinationals – like Celtel/Zain (now Airtel), Microsoft & Oracle - overseeing regional & global portfolios. In her current role as Regional HR Director overseeing the Sub-Saharan Africa market at a global IT MNC, she collaborates with business executives and stakeholders in both emerging and developed markets to implement global people and talent management strategies.

Folake has spent the better part of her career helping senior level executives succeed. She knows what it is like to fail and grow in a highly disruptive, matrixed and fast-paced working environment. Having sat at many executive leadership tables, she knows first-hand what executives want and the skills & abilities required to succeed at various levels in the organisation.

Stemming from reflections during a job loss and a passion to see senior professionals successfully
manage difficult career transitions, she became a Certified Executive coach at the UK’s Academy of
Executive Coaching (AoEC) and has coached many emerging leaders, aspiring C-Suite executives, high performing teams, start-up entrepreneurs & business leaders across the globe. She recently founded ‘Coachivate’; a platform and practice that delivers executive career transition coaching, helping mid to senior-level professionals develop the right mindset and skillset to land their next role and create impact in senior management/C-suite positions.

Folake is also a certified Life Coach, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) Practitioner and a member
of various professional associations including the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and Society
of Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Volunteer work & Special interests
Folake is unapologetic about her passion on the education, empowerment and elevation of
women. She is an immediate past member of the Executive Council of WIMBIZ (Women in
Management, Business and Public Service)
She regularly lends her time to mentor mid-career female professionals; to equip them to
develop their executive voice & executive presence whilst navigating difficult workplace
situations.

She is also a sought-after speaker in areas such as leadership devpt., mid-life career transitions
workplace politics, building executive career confidence, dealing with fear, self-doubt and the
imposter syndrome, the role of HR in disruption & digital transformation, reskilling the
workforce for future employability, etc.

She is a passionate culinary enthusiast, who loves dining out and traveling, to explore new cultures
and cuisines. She currently resides in Johannesburg with husband, Adeniyi, a real estate
investment banker and their two daughters – a teen and a twenty.

Hedrick Musonye is a Human Resource practitioner with over 20 years of experience. She is currently the Administration Manager at Dentons Hamilton Harrison & Mathews, where her responsibilities include developing and implementing the firm’s human resources policies, procedures and stakeholder management.
Hedrick has a keen understanding of the critical role of human resource management in a dynamic organisation and the need to create an enabling environment where diverse and inclusive teams can manoeuvre during a crisis. Her experience managing several transition projects for the firm has given her extensive insight into change management and implementing organisational systems and structures.
Hedrick is an alumni of Edinburg Business School, United Kingdom, where she obtained her Masters degree in Business Administration, with a specialism in Human Resource Management. She has recently obtained her CHRP-K certification.
In addition, she undertook an experiential leadership program - Female Future Leadership Development Program, organized by the Federation of Kenya Employers. The course is aimed at preparing women from board positions.

David Ssegawa is Ugandan and a seasoned business and Human Capital management leader, having provided strategic-thought direction as Human Resources Director at some of the leading global multinational organisations including; Unilever, The Standard Bank of South Africa, The Coca-Cola Company, Bharti Airtel International, the Africa Development Bank, and was until recently the Global Director for People & Culture at Oxfam International. He is currently the Global Chief People & Culture Officer at Living Goods.

Over the last 20 years, David has played a key role in mapping and building African talent pools for multinational businesses in Uganda, East Africa and across Africa. He has mentored and coached many professionals to become top business Leaders across Africa and globally. He is excited about the innovations around talent management practice which he has led as a way of laying a foundation for the workplace and workforce of the future.
Has led organisation-wide transformations at Country, Regional and International levels, provided successful business solutions for Mergers and Acquisition, Organisation re-design, start-ups, and is adept at building organisational capabilities for the future.
He is a Panel Judge for the AMBA & BGA Awards and also a Panel Judge for the Africa Employee Engagement Awards.
He is the Founder and first President of the Human Resources Managers’ Association of Uganda (HRMAU).

He holds an MBA in Strategic Human Resources from the University of Leicester, UK and a Bachelor of Social Work & Social Administration degree from Makerere University, Uganda.
He is also an ICF Certified Coach.
