Professor, International Business, City University New York; Fulbright Scholar to Africa 2021-22, Strathmore Business School, Kenya
https://www.linkedin.com/in/lilacnachum/Providing corporate executives a compass to navigate in a global world has been my stock in trade for three decades. As a teacher, adviser and researcher, I offer executives tools to make informed strategic choices, based on their distinctive strengths and business goals, and I teach them how to implement them effectively to support their global activity.
I am a Professor of International Business at City University New York. In conjunction with this position I have held visiting positions in business schools and universities around the world. I was a Fulbright Scholar to Africa and currently a visiting professor at Strathmore University Business School in Kenya.
I have lived and worked in more than 15 countries on five continents (North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East), and have engaged with the executives that shape the business landscape in their countries. The insights I generated through these experiences inform the service I offer companies. I am particularly knowledgeable about emerging markets, with special expertise in Africa, the growth areas of most global companies and also a daunting challenge to many of them.
Along with my work with firms and their executives, I have engaged in various capacities with international, national and local governmental organizations, including the United Nations, the World Bank, the EU, and others. These have awarded me understanding of the working of governments and ease of navigation between private and public institutions. These qualities enable me to assist companies to deal with governments – as regulators, business partners and clients - which have become increasingly influential on firms in the contemporary world.
