As Kenya hosts the inaugural Africa Climate Summit, the drive for climate action is taking shape with the latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) setting out, in stark terms, the imperative to build a sustainable future. Combatting climate change is as much a global effort as it is a local one.
Private sector has emerged as an indispensable force in our collective future, with a survey conducted amongst AmCham members establishing without a doubt the centrality of sustainability to business outcomes in the modern world.
The AmCham Force 4 Good Initiative - Climate Forum aims to amplify climate action efforts and highlight the impact of the private sector within the AmCham ecosystem, in mitigating climate change and driving resilience.
The session will explore:
- Factors that have enabled and propelled company contributions to climate action and embracing sustainability as a core business value.
- Challenges and barriers faced.
- Opportunities to empower private sector through progressive policies and incentive mechanisms to do more.
