Event Details

With trading under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) having commenced on 1st January, 2021, it is expected that State Parties will begin to align their customs procedures and provide customs documentations for exports under the AfCFTA.

To facilitate the private sector harnessing opportunities in the continental market information dissemination on market access for both trade in goods and services is vital.

Join us April 20, 2021 at 10.30 - 12noon EAT for a sensitization forum with the State Department for Trade and Enterprise Development on the AfCFTA with the aim to:

  1. Provide a clear understanding of the market opportunities and expectations in the AfCFTA
  2. Outline Kenya's position and preparedness for trading under the AfCFTA.
  3. Detail measures to fill gaps and address challenges to the implementation of the AfCFTA and uptake of the opportunities for continental trade.

The forum will also include engagement with the following government agencies related to the AfCFTA:

  • The Kenya Revenue Authority
  • The Kenya Bureau of Standards
  • Kenya Trade Network Agency (KenTrade)
